Age Spots Creams

Age spots creams are products which are in great demand currently due to the high rate at which people are developing age spots. Age spots are blemish spots which appear on the skin as one gradually ages and is exposed to the sun for longer periods of time. Though age spots do not pose any serious threat many people find them unsightly and seek treatment for them. Use of age spots creams is one of the most effective methods of dealing with them.

There are age spots creams which are called retinoids. They are made using Vitamin A creams like Retina A and Retinova. These creams contain Vitamin A in higher dosages which when applied directly to the skin causes the body’s natural exfoliating process to accelerate and thus new skin cells will develop and replace the old skin cells. As the old skin cells dry out and fall off they are immediately replaced by new skin cells thus leaving the skin completely free of age spots. For maximum effectiveness of theses age spots creams it is recommended to use them together with hydroquinone creams.

Age spots of this nature can be obtained directly over the counter with or without prescription from a doctor but it is better if a dermatologist is consulted first before applying any on your skin.

Besides the use of retinoids, there are other age spots creams containing Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHAs) which are also effective in removing age spots. AHAs which are certain acids derived from certain fruits and dairy products are converted to creams which are then applied on the skin topically.

This age spot cream and the hydroxy acids contained in them function in the upper epidermal layers to disintegrate the cellular binding mechanisms hence allowing newer skins to develop and replace the dead skin cells that have built up a while as you are ageing. This cream is highly recommended by dermatologists due to its high effectiveness.

Moreover there are age spots creams that have been enhanced with chemicals that cause the peeling off of age spots, however, it is best if they are prescribed by a doctor. If you are to use any chemical peel cream, consult your dermatologist first to avoid any complications thereafter. If possible, completely avoid the use of chemical age spot creams as they always leave the skin with wounds that might not be pleasant or even worse than the age spots themselves
